Delicious! Only 4 stars because I took the opinion of the reviewers and put only 1 cup of flower. They had the perfect texture and taste! I added a few white chocolate chips on top on a whim. Yum!

Used 1 cup flour. Next time, try reducing butter to 3/4 cup.

I made these using the changes of 1 cup flour and 3 eggs. I also topped with semi-sweet chocolate chips and walnuts and cooked for 30 minutes. They were delicious. Just as good as the boxed stuff. This recipe is a keeper.

When I read "cakelike" brownies, I thought I wouldn't like them. But, oh yes, they are so good! They are less dense, but still rich. I made a half recipe in a 9 X 9, used pecans instead of walnuts - and stuck some peanut butter chips and butterscotch chips in one side. Tried some powdered frosting on some, too. I was surprised at how moist they stayed overnight, too. I'm made them earlier this week and I'm making another 1/2 batch again tonight. These take about 10 minutes to throw together - put the butter in the microwave on defrost for a couple minutes while you gather the rest of the ingredients. I will never buy another box again - they have trans fats (partially hydrogenated oils and/or shortening) in them. These are still fattening, but not as bad as box mixes. YUM!!

These were very good brownies! I will use this recipe again. I cut down the amount of flour as suggested and they turned out great.

Too good, I leave out 1 egg and the result is a chewy brownie. I make these anytime we have family gatherings and they are a huge hit.

This is a very good basic brownie recipe. I followed the recipe exactly...only changing the walnuts to chocolate chips instead. The brownies were moist and delicious. The only reason I didn't give it a 5-star, is because to me, a 5-star brownie is thick, chewy, and lined with caramel.

I just love this recipe! Easy to make & absolutely delicious! I recieved nothing but great reviews from my brownie tester. Reducing the flour to a cup did the trick plus I was left with 3/4 cup of cocoa so i top it off with chocolate emulco & i turns out great! could be the reason why my brownie is more fudgy. Thanks for this great recipe!

These are the first homemade brownies I have ever made and they are just as good if not better than the box mixes! I had to substitute shortening for butter since I was low and I only used 3 eggs so they wouldnt be so cakey and followed the recommendation for only 1 cup of flour. Yummy!

From experience, all the best brownies I have ever made were done in a gas oven. No idea why but they always came out more moist. This was the case for me as I am using electric. I also used plain cocoa and they did not turn out anything like I am used to. I usually use Dutch Processed cocoa which is far superior and darker in texture (and cheaper!). I agree about using less flour as stated by several reviewers.

Wonderful. I used 1 1/4 cup of flour. I did need to bake it for about 32 minutes but they were chewy on the inside and cake like on the out side. They took about 5 minutes to thow together too so that's definitely a plus.
