I'm not a cook or a baker, but my husband and I needed an activity to do together and this turned out great. They were delicious after and the neighbors we shared them with liked them too. The first batch I cooked for 8 min and they turned out too thin. The rest I baked for 6 min and it was so soft. Also I took the idea of rolling it in sugar instead of flour and it had more flavor.

Great Cookies. I did have to spice it up little more. I added extra 1/2 cup flour and 4 cap fulls of vanilla and extra cup butter. GOD THEY ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

These cookies are the best sugar cookies ever! I have been looking for a sugar cookie recipe that is like the one used for cookie bouquets, this is it! I would roll them to no less than 1/2 inch thickness if you are going to insert sticks. They come out Perfect!

these are really good...i had to hide them from the kids.. :D i was out of regular white sugar so i used two cups of splenda.. tastes great :D

I'm giving these 4 stars b/c I don't think it's fair to rate them poorly since I need to play around with them but...am I the only one that followed lebellmelange's review and assumed she meant that INSTEAD OF 2 cups white sugar to use 1 cup powdered and 1 cup white sugar? I realized later, after my dough was super soft and sticky and spread during baking that I must have done something wrong and then I realized she meant that she added an additional 1 cup white sugar and 1 cup powdered sugar. ack! I tried to knead in the additional white sugar to the dough I had left after the first batch of cookies I baked. I put it in the fridge for a few more hours and the dough still got soft super fast while rolling and was hard to cut and transfer but I do think they maintained their shape better during baking and were crispier cookies, not as cake-like as they were originally. So, I'll try these again sometime following lebellemelange's instructions properly! I thought they tasted good.

Signed up to this website just so I could rate these cookies. I did not care for this recipe. Mixture is sticky and unmanageable. Not even the simplest cutter could hold or form a shape. MOVE ON TO ANOTHER RECIPE!!!

Disappointing! I made these cookies with my son. Not only was the dough sticky and impossible to cut with a cookie cutter, we didn't care for the taste. They are very floury- like a previous reviewer said, cake like. The cookies were barely 1/4 in thick when i rolled them out, and the ones we managed to get on the cookie sheet in a decent shape distended in the oven.

Very yummy. Dough was a bit sticky once it warmed up. I think I will tinker with this recipe a bit next time my daughter wants to make cut out cookies. Maybe switch the vanilla with almond flavoring...
